Description
This piece was inspired by the lush coastal forests of Vancouver Island and painted as a celebration of the places that have shaped so much of my life. Moss-covered branches reach overhead while shafts of light filter through the canopy, illuminating the rich greens that make these woods feel almost otherworldly. It is the feeling of stepping off the trail, slowing your pace, and becoming completely immersed in the living world around you.
What makes this piece especially meaningful is that it was painted alongside my daughters. As they explored the forest floor, collected treasures, and asked endless questions about the world around them, I found myself seeing these woods through fresh eyes. Full of wonder. Full of possibility. Full of life.
For me, this painting is about more than a forest. It is about connection. To nature, to family, and to the simple moments that become the memories we carry forward. The scent of cedar and fir in the air, moss beneath small hands, sunlight dancing through the branches, and the quiet reminder that some of life's richest moments are also its simplest.
Material Specifications
Paper Prints:
All paper prints are printed on matte, cotton-rag, archival paper, elegantly textured for a mould-made feel with a streamlined 1" white border.
Canvas Prints:
Canvas prints are printed in a sumptuous satin finish using Breathing Color LYVE canvas with award-winning, OBA free, truly archival, museum-grade canvas with incredible dMax and sharp detail. We carefully coat all of our canvas prints with Breathing Color Timeless Coatings, which are certified 100+ year archival by the Fine Art Trade Guild and offer superior UV protection. Stretched canvas prints are built upon 1.5" deep stretcher bars offering presence off the wall and a museum feel. The sides of the canvas are treated in a solid black colour.
Rolled canvas prints include a 2.5" border which allows for stretching on bars up to 1 1/2" deep.
Sizing:
Unframed (rolled) print dimensions are exact to what is shown on the store. For example, a 20x20" paper print measures 20" by 20". This measurement includes the 3/4" white boarder. An unframed 40x40" canvas print includes a 2.5" border, for a total dimension of 45x45" (the image area is 40x40").

Unframed (rolled) prints and framed paper prints are available globally. Framed canvas prints are currently available within Canada.
Insurance:
Your shipment is also insured, covering any damage upon arrival. If you do have this happen, please take photos of the package upon arrival and we will begin a claim for you where your order will be reprinted and shipped.
